Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes to make that delicious meal you enjoyed at your favorite restaurant? There’s the nutritional side of things - like how healthy your salad really is - but what about the environment? What impact does that amazing lasagne have on Mother Earth?
The Zero Foodprint project is looking to answer that question - and to make that answer an environmentally friendly one. Founded on the belief that restaurants and diners can help lead the fight against climate change, Zero Foodprint analyzes emissions, and works with businesses to help them either reduce or offset their yearly impact on the environment.
In the short term, the project aims to establish environmentally responsible operations as a marketable virtue in the restaurant industry. Zooming out to the big picture, Zero Foodprint hopes to bring about a significant reduction in both greenhouse gas emissions and waste from the restaurant industry.
Funded by the Trust for Conservation Innovation, the project wants you to enjoy delicious food - the green way.
