This week marks International Literacy Day (September 8) - but for us, every day is a good day to celebrate the love of books and reading. Check out the following collection of funky Tumblrs that feature books and bookworms. Hopefully they can inspire you to add a few interesting titles to your "to read" list.
By the way, what are you reading these days? Share in the comments below.

1. AWESOME PEOPLE READING

As the name suggests, this blog features photos of… awesome people reading. From classics like Dean Martin and Bob Dylan to more contemporary awesome people like Adele and Prince William, this simple site shows a love for reading for all mediums – be it magazines, books, newspapers or even sheet music.

2. BOOKSHELFIES

Composed of 100% user-contributed content, this blog showcases "selfies" of people standing in front of their book shelves. Each photo caption includes a list of the book/s visible on the shelf, with the shots themselves ranging from quirky to color-coded, and even feline.

3. A BOOK COVER A DAY

The third in our trio of Tumblrs that celebrate reading, this fabulous blog features a fabulous book cover in each post – though it must be said that sometimes it skips a day or two! Along with notable books and authors, the blog pays tribute to the visual art that goes into making the package of an amazing read. We particularly love Jack Kerouac's On the Road, and Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic The Secret Garden.
