8 Photos of the Moment People Hear ‘You're Beautiful’
A high school assignment becomes a social experiment about beauty.
Shea Glover started out with a simple aim: to capture beauty in its purest, most raw form. What began as a project for her Integrated Arts class at her high school in Chicago, soon became much, much more.
Glover asked teachers and students - most of whom she did not know personally - to pose in front of her camera. Halfway through the shoot, Glover would tell them the purpose of her project. “I’m taking pictures of things I find beautiful,” she said. Glover captured their reactions at that exact instant on camera and film. The reactions range from shyness, to happiness - and even anger. Without exception, the photos capture the beauty of raw emotions triggered by a single word.
