Mindfulness is a buzzword these days, with workplaces running sessions for employees, countless meditation apps on the market and practitioners attending long retreats around the world. The touted benefits of the practice are many and varied - from improved focus and a boosted sense of wellbeing to better sleep quality and even feeling more compassionate towards others. But there is a catch - this delicious buffet of positive effects cannot be ingested overnight, but rather requires a dedicated meditation practice of at least 10 minutes a day, most days. And you need to learn how to do it.

Two Australian mindfulness enthusiasts are looking to solve that issue for would-be-meditators around the world with The Mindfulness Summit - a series of online interviews, meditation sessions and presentations taking place from October 1 – 31, 2015. The free online event brings together 31 of the world’s leading experts on meditation and mindfulness, big names such as Jon Kabat Zinn, Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach and Arianna Huffington. A talk from one of these teachers will be broadcast live each day in October, giving participants the opportunity to learn from the masters in the comfort and privacy of their home.

Throughout the month-long event, the teachers will present different styles of mindfulness meditation, along with instructions to help participants find which one suits them best. Sessions will also present practical ways to apply mindfulness in everyday situations, such as at work or at school. Ultimately, the course aims to bring mindfulness into the mainstream - teaching people around the world how to live with wisdom, freedom and inner peace.
