Katy Perry, Will.i.am and Adam Lambert are just some of the famous faces that lent their voices to the UNICEF initiative #IMAGINE which raises awareness and funds for children’s rights globally. Started last year to mark the 25th anniversary of United Nations' Convention on the Rights of the Child, the campaign invited millions of people to be part of the world’s largest sing-along. Spearheaded by famed music producer David Guetta and Yoko Ono, individuals were asked to croon their version of the song “Imagine” with the late John Lennon via the free TouchCast app. The coolest part is that David Guetta has been working on compiling all of the submitted vocals to create a world version of “Imagine” accompanied by an interactive music video to be released on January 2015.
John Lennon's powerful words to “Imagine” speak about unifiying all of the dreamers together to live as one - making the world a better and safer place for all. The song is especially fitting as an homage to International Human Rights Day, happening today and each year on December 10. The UN marked day is to ensure that each and every person has equal and fair rights across the globe. So let's take John's words to hearts and start dreaming together to make that a reality.
