The Nepal Friendship Society has a noble goal: to improve the quality of life of poor and marginalized people and raise awareness for sustainable development across Nepal. The official Good Deeds Day partner in Nepal offers educational opportunities to children, youth, and women. Supporting peace, green development, youth leadership programs, you name it.

For this week's 10 Good Questions, Goodnet spoke to NFS founder and chairperson Birendra Poudel to take a closer look at this inspiring organization.

1. WHAT IS YOUR ORGANIZATION’S MISSION?

To enable equitable and sustainable Development by improvement of skill management and rising level of awareness in Local level.

2. WHAT MAKES YOU GUYS DIFFERENT FROM THE REST?

Well, we are simple and it always seems impossible until its done. We believe our work strongly and confidently it might be different from the rest.

3. WHAT THREE WORDS DESCRIBE YOUR ORGANIZATION?

Ambitious, friendly, responsible.

4. WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

We draw our inspiration from lots of self motivation and good people around the world whom with we have the honor of working.

5. WHO'S YOUR FAVORITE GOOD DOER FIGURE?

My favorite good doer figure is my mentor Mr. Pal from Sweden along with all members of my family.  

6. WHAT IS THE BEST PART ABOUT YOUR JOB?

The best part of the job is, without a question, working with the community and the school children, because I always have the opportunity to learn something from them. "Sharing is caring" is sort of our mantra.

7. HOW DO YOU MEASURE SUCCESS WITHIN YOUR ORGANIZATION?

Measuring the impact of our work is one of the key challenges within the organization. We tackle this by focussing on the outcome of our projects: the level of awareness of the local people and the progress that was made in the field of education.

8. FACEBOOK OR TWITTER?

We're actually twice on Facebook. Once as the Nepal Friendship Society & also as the Nepal branch of Good Deeds Day.

9. WHAT DO YOU WANT GOODNET USERS TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR ORGANIZATION?

We strongly believe that doing good is absolutely important, wherever you are in the world. Everyone, including you, can help make a difference.

Millions of people are in need of help in many different ways, so be true to yourself and people will know you and your good work. Wherever possible, be the driving force behind doing good in your area.
