Meditation comes with so many benefits that it really should be something everybody practices and experiences. Being able to relax your mind and enter a deep state of meditation is not only relaxing and re-energizing, but it’s also a fantastic way of improving both your mental and physical health.

One way to enhance your skills is by utilizing technology. The evolution of our smartphones has led to a vast array of applications we can take advantage of. Whether you’re just beginning to look into the world of meditation or if it is something you have done for years, the apps below are designed to help you clear your mind and experience a more mindful meditation.

1. SATTVA - GUIDED MEDITATION

Sattva is a fantastic app for anybody who wants to either start learning how to meditate or for season pro’s who can easily clear their thoughts and enter a meditative state of mind. It comes with daily guided meditations which can help you start to clear your thoughts as well as a timer, a way of tracking your sessions and providing you with insights of the benefits meditation can have on you.

To make things even better you can use the app to set up your own ‘lounges’ where you and your friends can meet to have group meditation sessions. Of course we would suggest you meet them in person if it’s possible and easy to do so, but if not the app makes it very easy to share the experience.

2. INSIGHT TIMER

Next up we have a great tool called Insight Timer. The app features over 8000 guided meditations and the app developers have implemented ways for you to track your progress as you explore meditation. It isn’t just for trying to reach a higher-level of self love though, the app is also great for overcoming challenging situations such as anxiety or addiction withdrawals.

It boasts a huge community of users and if one of the most widely used meditation apps on the app store.

3. YOUTUBE

YouTube might seem like a strange addition to this list especially as it’s not a dedicated application for meditation or mindfulness. However it is absolutely crammed with helpful videos related to meditation. It’s a huge resource at your fingertips but more importantly it’s a really useful tool for those who are hard-of-hearing who can’t find a deaf app.

There isn’t really a dedicated app for deaf people when it comes to guided meditations and we feel that should change, but struggling to hear can make it very problematic to listen to a guided meditation. YouTube however has a lot of content which deaf people can utilize and read, rather than listen, in order to achieve a more mindful experience in life.

4. BREETHE - GUIDED MEDITATION & MINDFULNESS

Breethe is a highly reputable app which is designed to help people in a whole array of life circumstances. It is packed with guided meditations but rather than being generic you can choose from specific categories. For example, family, weight loss, career success etc etc.

It’s a great way of reducing or lowering stress and anxiety and best of all it is effective for people of different abilities. There’s even a section exclusively for kids which means you can help your children start their journey towards mindfulness without needing to simplify things yourself.

5. STOP, BREATHE & THINK: MEDITATE

Last on our list is a little gem by the name of Stop, Breathe & Think. One of the most appealing aspects of the app is the gorgeous user interface. The design is very well thought out and makes navigating through your options incredibly easy. It’s not the cheapest option out there as the app comes with subscription options, however what it does, it does very, very well.

You can discover guided meditations for just about anything and it’s really easy to find what you need. You can choose meditations based on your mood or based on what you want to experience. Enhancing your mindfulness couldn’t be easier with an app like this.

We are firm believers that experiencing meditation and opening your eyes to mindfulness is a great way to live. You don’t need to commit to hours of soul-searching a day and could simply just switch off for ten minutes before or after work. Plus you can find a whole host of mindfulness tips to ease your journey.

Whatever your reasons, the health benefits alone make experimenting with meditation a great thing to do. So what are you waiting for? Try the apps above and start becoming more enlightened, positive and happy in your daily life today.
