Everything you do in life begins with you. Having faith in yourself drives every thought, action, and behavior toward a life of purpose and joy. 

From time-to-time, you may experience self-doubt, fear, and anxiety around your choices, or life path. These feelings are valid, and unless you acknowledge and embrace your negative emotions, you won’t see a change. 

In order to grow and evolve, you must first step into your truth. Recognize patterns of limited thinking and replace them with empowering thoughts to move you toward a path of self-worth. Then you can begin believing in yourself. When you do, you open up an ocean of possibilities. The world becomes your oyster.

These five steps will help guide you to a place of self-confidence where you can believe in yourself entirely:

Explore Your Emotions
How often do you venture within and connect the mind, body, and soul in sweet harmony? Taking a few mindful moments out of your busy day can do wonders for energy balancing, which influences how you feel each day. By devoting time to mindfulness meditation, you begin to understand yourself on a deeper level. Dive into the depths of your soul and explore your emotions. 

Often, when individuals first try meditation, they may feel uncomfortable with what comes up. Feelings of fear, negativity, or self-sabotaging thoughts may arise. Sit with this, and just be. Breathe through each emotion and acknowledge your feelings. The more you practice shadow work, the more you can heal these negative thoughts and begin to move away from a place of lack into a flow of abundance. 

Visualize and Feel “As If”
Exploring your emotions is only the beginning, a vital element for self-belief. By gaining clarity of your mindset, you can begin to move forward and see yourself where you want to be. Visualization encourages you to create an image of your dream life. It strengthens motivation, reprograms your brain, promotes confidence, and reduces stress. 

Imagine that you have already reached your highest self. Feel as if you are already this person, living your dream life. Act as you imagine yourself. As soon as you see it, you are more likely to want it. You’ll feel a sense of motivation and inspiration to go after it.

Practice Positive Affirmations
Shift your mindset from a negative state and replace this with positivity. Transcend from a place of fear into confidence by practicing positive affirmations. 

Positive affirmations are statements repeated to encourage and uplift the person speaking them. Always use the present tense when stating your affirmations. Begin with ‘I am’, or ‘I do’ so that your brain recognizes this is how you feel now, in this present moment. Looking in the mirror enhances the power of positive affirmations so try to make eye contact with yourself while doing so. 

Here is a positive affirmation you can try: “I have the ability to do anything I wish to do, to be anyone I wish to be.” Just remember that you are worthy, you are loved, and you are powerful.

Set Inspiring Intentions
What are your deepest desires, your life’s biggest dreams? What do you want to do, achieve, be, and see in this lifetime? By setting inspiring intentions that are in alignment with your highest self, you can take the steps toward reaching these each day.

Start off small and embrace each precious milestone along the way. Trust your intuition. She’s your greatest teacher. Follow your heart and return home, to yourself. 

Step Into Your Truth
Practicing all of the above will benefit you if you take action and step into your truth. Put these into practice and start living as your highest self. When you begin living as your most authentic self, your true power will rise up and you will be free; free to make your own choices, live each day as you desire, and ultimately believe in yourself. 

Life is an ever-changing journey that teaches us valuable lessons along the way. The experience can feel like a rollercoaster of highs and lows. But the downs help to appreciate the rise up. Even when you struggle, never give up. You may falter from time to time, or make mistakes. And that’s okay! 

Love every part of you as everyone is uniquely different and this is what makes us beautiful. Continue to believe in yourself, and each day you will grow and evolve into your highest self. Reach for the stars as the sky has no limits.
