The social enterprise Plain Ink believes that telling stories and igniting the imagination is the most effective way to increase literacy and education for children in developing countries. Unlike your typical literacy organization, Plain Ink publishes original stories, comic books and learning materials with themes of multiculturalism, respect and integration. Through their publishing house in Italy, the proceeds from the sales of their educational books fuel the production and free distribution of reading materials for children in Afghanistan and India. Plain Ink mostly sources local authors, illustrators and printers in the countries in which the books are distributed, thus supporting local economies in developing regions.
This creative engine of good welcomes those interested in getting involved either by volunteering or the opportunity for professional writers and illustrators to submit their work and get published.                         [Source: Plain Ink]
