The Barbie brand has been making a conscientious effort to revamp and modernize - and the newly-released dolls show they’re really stepping up their game. The dolls are now available in three different body shapes – curvy, tall, and petite - to complement the seven skin tones, 22 eye colors, and 24 hairstyles that were added to the collection in June 2015.
As the world continues to evolve, so too will Barbie’s image, according to Richard Dickson, president and chief operating officer of Barbie manufacturing company, Mattel. As he told The Guardian, “Barbie reflects the world girls see around them. Her ability to evolve and grow with the times, while staying true to her spirit, is central to why Barbie is the number one fashion doll in the world.”
