You’ve eaten breakfast, got dressed, tidied up a bit and you’re almost ready to head out the door. You spritz your favorite perfume, and smile to yourself - it’s only 8am and you’ve already done something small to make the world a better place. Wait - what? Perfume that wants to change the world?
That’s right - these five perfumes do more than just smell good. Each fragrance has its own unique mission to do good. Smells amazing!
1. THE PERFUME WITH A PLANTABLE BOX

THE SMELL: This perfume is made with USDA-certified vanillas, rare resins and spices.
THE EXTRA GOODNESS: It’s not just the Mejica fragrance that’s eco-friendly - A Perfume Organic’s perfume boxes are all embedded with flower seeds and can be planted to bloom real blossoms! And that’s on top a commitment to minimal, recyclable packaging and printing marketing materials on recycled paper with vegetable inks.
2. THE PERFUME THAT SUPPORTS WOMEN

THE SMELL: A blend of citrus and vanilla, which yoga teacher, author and now perfumer Elena Brower created to remind her of the first days of summer in Italy.
THE EXTRA GOODNESS: This perfume has a lot of good packed into a tiny bottle: Two dollars from every bottle of GIVESCENT perfume sold is donated to Every Mother Counts, a campaign to improve the health and well-being of girls and women worldwide. And on top of that, five percent of the perfume’s proceeds goes to Women for Women International, which supports female survivors of war with tools and resources to work towards stability and self-sufficiency.
3. THE SOCIAL GOOD PERFUME
THE PERFUME: The THX Co.
THE SMELL: A crisp, natural fragrance which is responsibly sourced - so you can do good for the world around you, while smelling good.
THE EXTRA GOODNESS: This social good business is keeping our curiosity piqued - their mens and womens eco-conscious perfumes will be released in Spring 2015 - and 100% of the profits will be donated to nonprofit partners.
4. THAT 70s PERFUME
THE PERFUME: LUSH Karma
THE SMELL: This perfume mixes patchouli, sweet orange and lemongrass oils - making a scent that’s as hippy as can be. It’s also available as a body cream, soap, body powder, shampoo bar and a bubble bar.
THE EXTRA GOODNESS: On top of being vegan and reasonably priced, Karma is made using natural ingredients and safe synthetics.
5. THE CERTIFIED ORGANIC FRENCH PERFUME
THE PERFUME: L'Artisan Parfumeur Eau Naturelle de Jatamansi
THE SMELL: A subtle fragrance, this eco-conscious perfume has bergamot and cardamom top notes, combined with Australian sandalwood, guaiac wood and Indian papyrus.
