Crowdfunding, crowdsourcing, crowdvoting... there's no doubt this is the age of the wisdom of the crowd - making decisions based on the collective opinion of a large group of individuals.
Yet another proof comes from the Brooklyn Museum, which has initiated GO - a community event wherein the wisdom of the crowd is harnessed in order to select artists for an exhibition scheduled for later this year.
Anyone can join in online as a prospective voter, yet to ensure an engaged and educated vote, voters are invited to visit artists' studios this weekend, September 8-9, between 11 am to 7 pm. You will have to check into at least five studios to be eligible to vote for three artists out of a mind-boggling 1,759. The exhibition is scheduled for Dec 1, 2012, as part of the the museum's Target First Saturday series - a free program for museum guests. [Source: GO]
