Today – November 13 – is World Kindness Day, a day dedicated to highlighting the good in the global community. From Japan to Australia, Nigeria to the United Arab Emirates, people across the earth mark the day with events such as The Big Hug, The Kindness Concert and the Global Flashmob. Here at Goodnet, we've pulled together five heart-warming acts of kindness – to prove that people really are awesome, and maybe even inspire another act or two. Have a great day!

1. THE KINDEST ADDICTION

Once you see the twist in this tongue-in-cheek clip you'll want to watch it again – we promise. Anything more we say would spoil it – just take 90 seconds and enjoy. If you love it as much as we do, you can check out the sequel, here.

2. ENCOURAGING KINDNESS IN THAILAND

We love this masterpiece of a commercial for Thai telecom company TrueMoveH, which encourages acts of kindness and sends a non-commercial message: "giving is the best communication." Don't be surprised if you get a bit choked up!

3. A CARING AUSSIE IN THE SUPERMARKET

This beautiful tale from Down Under describes a spontaneous random act of kindness – in the queue for the supermarket checkout of all places. The anonymous kindness card user is part of an inspiring new trend, in which people perform kind deeds and leave a card to encourage passing the positive sentiment forwards.

4. 22 ACTS OF KINDNESS IN ONE DAY

This lovely video stars Goodnet favorite Syed Muzamil Hasan Zaidi, who spent his 22nd birthday performing 22 random acts of kindness around Islamabad, Pakistan. From distributing balloons to a children's orphanage to cleaning up litter at his university, Syed made his birthday a celebration of giving – and spread the beautiful, simple message - "Let us be kind."

5. THE HAPPIEST LITTLE GIRL IN THE MAGIC KINGDOM

This security guard at Disneyland made a little girl's day – and it turns out he does it all the time! According to one happy Pinterest user, the friendly Magic Kingdom employee stopped Alli – dressed as a princess – and asked for her autograph. Alli was so happy that the man thought she was a real princess, she didn't stop smiling all day.
