A bold flight attendant seized the day as his airline’s aircraft soared, and recently belted out an Ed Sheeran song to passengers, who had no access to the in-flight entertainment system,  over the in-flight  intercom, Yahoo News reports.

In the age of social media, this was not a surprise that passengers could keep to themselves, reports See It LiveFootage shared on TikTok captures the reactions of two women, who were charmed by the purser’s impromptu performance. One of them, Australian tourist, Ashleigh, wrote on the video sharing site of her unusual flight from Cambodia to Vietnam: “I've never been so confused and so happy at once.” She did recommend, however, that the flight attendant start including a karaoke machine as a carry-on for better sound quality, WBWN relays.

Detailing the magic of the performance, See It Live shared that  “A few brave souls sang along, while others clapped and swayed to the music. It was a sight to behold, turning strangers into a temporary musical family, all bound by the magic of music.”

As FOX49 reports, towards the end of the song, the flight attendant asked more passengers to join the party by waving their hands and showing their appreciation. And apparently, See It Live relates, disembarking passengers had broad smiles on their faces.

The positive talkbacks keep on coming!
It seems that the unlikely audience treated to this unusual rendition of Ed Sheeran’s song, Perfect, were delighted.

While acknowledging this steward’s daring, they remained overwhelmingly positive: “ He has no business performing to anybody, but at the same time I love him and hope he thrives,” wrote one. An online Yahoo News poll at the end of the article shows, at the time of writing, that 68 percent of readers would be keen for a flight attendant to serenade them in a similar fashion.

And their wish may be coming true. See It Live reports that as the story made the headlines, airlines worldwide were inspired to bring a touch of music to their own flights, planning live performances or karaoke sessions to relieve the monotony of long-haul journeys.

This is no one-hit wonder
Turns out that this isn’t the first time that this undiscovered performer has taken the floor in the skies.  According to Yahoo News, some of the TikTok commentators even recognised him as someone who had also sung tunes on their AirAsia flights.

Judging by the post’s feedback, other AirAsia staff members are also prone to providing alternative forms of in-flight entertainment, Apparently, according to Fox49, a passenger on a Philippines-bound flight was treated to a trivia quiz conducted over the PA, with prizes for the winners, while another user noted that “AirAsia hosts are some of the funniest people I’ve met.”

According to Today Online, other examples include the moment in 2017, when AirAsia flight attendant, Assraf Nasir, went viral for dancing to Britney Spears’ Toxic while on an almost-empty  Airbus A330. This was later reposted on Instagram by AirAsia’s CEO, who paid tribute to the ability and creativity of his team. “The talent in AirAsia never fails to amaze me… Love it that staff can just have fun and be themselves,” he wrote.
