During the holiday season, it feels great to give and receive gifts. It is the perfect time of year to reach out to those in need, but many of us don’t know where to begin.

This holiday season, and for the 11th year, Macy’s decided to help out.

According to the US Postal Service, the number of letters that are sent to Santa each year is “easily in the millions.”

This year instead of sending your letters to Santa through the traditional postal service, consider doing so through Macy’s.

Macy’s Believe program will donate $1 to Make a Wish for every letter they receive for Santa Claus, up to $1 million.

As it says on the project’s homepage, “You’re helping to give children the strength they need to fight critical illness.” You can even write the letter straight on the Macy’s website.

The Make a Wish foundation makes critically ill children's wishes come true. The wish can be anything from a makeup shopping spree to something simple like a family membership to a local gym, to trip around the globe to see world wonders.

At Make a Wish, they believe that fulfilling sick children’s dreams will restore their hope, helping them continue their fight towards recovery.

Start working on your list for Santa, and make sure to send it through Macy’s to join the cause to make critically ill children’s wishes come true.
