Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, is arguably one of the best children’s authors, having published more than 60 books during his beloved and prolific career.

In June 2017, a museum dedicated to the amazing life of Dr. Seuss opened to the public in his hometown of Springfield, Massachussetts.

The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss inhabits many neighborhood elements that inspired Geisel and infused his tales, giving a rare look into the private life of the beloved author.

The exhibits recreate a big part of Geisel’s own childhood, including replicas of the home where he grew up, the zoo where his father worked, and the bakery his grandparents owned.

Spread over several floors, the museum shows off games and climbable statues featuring the creatures such as Horton, the Cat in the Hat, the Lorax and Sam I Am. Seuss' books are sprinkled throughout the museum, allowing children the opportunity to look through the stories that animate the walls around them.

The lower-level is also equipped with a reading area and features lots coloring activities, games, and even the chance to bake your own edible cakes.
