Education for the Children

http://www.eftc.org.uk

EFTC's mission is to break the cycle of poverty through education and empowerment. We work in partnership with disadvantaged families, children and young adults in Guatemala, Central America to ensure they develop the tools they need to break free from the cycle of poverty. We have a school in Jocotenango, Guatemala: an urban area where extreme poverty, gang crime, domestic violence and alcoholism are everyday realities. Food, healthcare, counselling and career guidance at the school remove obstacles to education and enable these students to realise their potential.

Our goal is to fund, construct and open another larger learning center next year that will be able to assist a larger amount of high school students. To support our work in Nicaragua, we lead groups of volunteers to the country and provide a memorable experience working on community projects and exploring the country.
