Education for the Children

EFTC's mission is to break the cycle of poverty through education and empowerment. We work in partnership with disadvantaged families, children and young adults in Guatemala, Central America to ensure they develop the tools they need to break free from the cycle of poverty. We have a school in Jocotenango, Guatemala: an urban area where extreme poverty, gang crime, domestic violence and alcoholism are everyday realities. Food, healthcare, counselling and career guidance at the school remove obstacles to education and enable these students to realise their potential.

Amped for Education

Amped for Education was founded in 2009 with the goal of expanding education in developing countries. We began our work in Nicaragua with the construction of a high school in 2012, and we have continued to support the school's students and their community. Our goal is to fund, construct and open another larger learning center next year that will be able to assist a larger amount of high school students. To support our work in Nicaragua, we lead groups of volunteers to the country and provide a memorable experience working on community projects and exploring the country.

Code.org

Code.org® is a non-profit dedicated to expanding participation in computer science by making it available in more schools, and increasing participation by women and underrepresented students of color. We work across the K-12 spectrum, providing both high-quality, online curriculum as well as in person teacher professional development.

Games for Change

Founded in 2004, Games for Change facilitates the creation and distribution of social impact games that serve as critical tools in humanitarian and educational efforts. Unlike the commercial gaming industry, we aim to leverage entertainment and engagement for social good. To further grow the field, Games for Change convenes multiple stakeholders, highlights best practices, incubates games, and helps create and direct investment into new projects.

Healthnoise

Healthnoise is a platform for healthcare professionals and students to communicate with one another and the Internet community. The ultimate goal of Healthnoise is to create an educated patient population, while also introducing knowledgable healthcare professionals to the world.

Asian University for Women

The Asian University for Women is the preeminent liberal arts university for women in South Asia. With an emphasis on social justice and empowerment, AUW provides higher education to those who would otherwise not have the access.  Its students are competitively selected for admittance and for scholarship.  AUW students are among the best in their classes and are willing and able to become change-makers in their lives after university.

Hall Pass Tour

The Hall Pass Tour is a series of high energy, after-school music concerts for grades K-12 designed to help kids from underserved schools and communities get excited about leveraging higher learning to achieve their dreams.

826 National is a nonprofit organization that provides strategic leadership, administration, and other resources to ensure the success of its network of eight writing and tutoring centers. 826 centers offer a variety of inventive programs that provide under-resourced students, ages 6-18, with opportunities to explore their creativity and improve their writing skills.
