Raising Organic Family Farms

Raising Organic Family Farms is a multi-year initiative designed to inspire a new generation of organic family farmers and provide financial, education and mentoring support to aspiring organic farmers.

Future Feeders is growing the next generation of farmers. We want to engage young people in agriculture and develop pathways for skills development and long term happy, viable and sustainable careers in food production and land management. We are committed to ethical land stewardship and believe that this will be an essential foundation for successful food production now and into the future.

Farmigo

Farmigo's mission is to enable households across the country to receive fresh, wholesome food direct from local farms and producers delivered direct to convenient pick-up locations. Farmigo provides an online marketplace for consumers to find, select, and receive fresh food. Through group buying dynamics and subscription pricing, consumers attain affordable prices for organic food. Each farm and producer listed in the marketplace receives an Internet based logistics management system to track harvest, packing, routes, and member payment.

Laughing Man

Emmy® and Tony® Award winning actor Hugh Jackman and native New Yorker and entrepreneur David Steingard have joined together to launch Laughing Man Worldwide, a line of coffees, teas and chocolates, that gives 100% of profits to charity with a focus on education across the globe, from funding school programs to teaching farming, vocational training and character building. Supporting a world free of misery and suffering both here and abroad, all proceeds from the specialty coffees, teas, and chocolates are put towards encouraging widespread job growth and personal ingenuity.

The core ideal which we believe at HarvestGeek is that the economics of large-scale industrial agriculture is not a sustainable proposition thus the need for efficient, tested and reproducible methods of small-scale food production. We'd like to see communities producing the bulk of their own food. The benefits to this we believe are many.
By empowering the local food movement, communities will benefit from new employment opportunities, money spent on food will stay in the community, fossil fuel use due to food transportation will drop off sharply, impoverished areas access to (healthy) food will increase, and we will be seeding a new generation with an appreciation for food, their health, and their connection to the Earth.

Back to the Roots is an organization on a mission to take back our food and take back our health by creating that make it as easy as possible for people to grow their own food at home. The BTTR Grow-Your-Own Mushroom Garden and Home Aquaponics Garden encourage fresh, healthy eating as well as learning about where food comes from and why what we choose to eat is crucial to our health.
