Iconic business leaders ring the closing bell of NASDAQ every day - but not everyday it's a businesswoman who's also firmly committed to good doing - in philanthropy and business alike.
On March 4 at 3:45 PM ET, businesswoman and philanthropist Shari Arison rang the closing bell of NASDAQ - kicking off Good Deeds Day activities, which will culminate on the big day coming up March 9.
Initiated by Arison in 2007, Good Deeds Day - an annual celebration of good doing - brings together hundreds of thousands of people worldwide on one single day to perform good deeds together. The idea behind the global event is simple: everyone can do good, and together, positively impact the world.
The bell ringing ceremony jumpstarts a host of festivities on March 5 starring the Good Deeds Day bus, concluding with the main global event on March 9 of Good Deeds Day. Watch the moving ceremony and speech below!
