It's that time of the year again to celebrate the spirit of humanitarian work around the world. Yes, that's correct, Tuesday August 19 is World Humanitarian Day and this year the focus is on the personal stories of the humanitarians around the world who dedicate their lives to helping others. This video clip is a trailer for Voices from the Field - a series of powerful films profiling humanitarian workers who operate in some of the most challenging regions on the planet.
Among the good doers featured are Jack Kahorha who works tirelessly to provide clean water to families in the Democratic Republic of Congo along with Dr. Nene Rukunghu who treats and empowers thousands of women  in need.
Why not get involved and help make a difference yourself? It's easily done - all that's required is tweeting #humanitarianheroes to show your support for those who carry out incredible humanitarian work. While you are already putting your social media skills to good use, take the time to become a Messenger of Humanity to share messages of hope and action as well as stunning imagery and important facts about the humanitarian state of the world.
