Skateboards of Change Roll into Ethiopia | Ethioskate: empowering youth [VIDEO]

Can skateboarding affect positive change? If you ask passionate skateboarder Israel Dejene, founder of Ethioskate Project - there's no doubt that it can.
Inspired by a visit to his home village outside of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where kids slide down the sidewalk with plastic affixed to their shoes, Dejene introduced the speedy four-wheel wonder to his hometown kids. He took his idea a step further when founding Ethioskate Project, a non-profit that aims to steer Ethiopian youth off the streets. Local boys and girls between the ages of 6 to 19 are involved in Dejene’s nonprofit, and also enjoy the first skate park in Ethiopia, aptly named ”Love in Action.”
The Ethioskate Project is looking to expand and provide more skateboards to youth in need, and get them rolling into a better future.
