Street Books

Street Books is a bicycle-powered mobile library, serving people who live outside. Books are available to check out and return, using an old-school card & pocket inside each cover. Patrons are not required to show ID or proof of address, and are asked to return the books when they are able. Those who wish to be photographed with their book of choice, or offer a book review for others, will be documented here. They will also be able to contribute their own stories from the road.

100 People Foundation

The 100 People Foundation helps students to better understand the complex issues facing our planet and the resources we share. By framing the global population as 100 people, our media makes education more engaging and effective, and improves students' abilities to remember and relate to what they learn.

myEDmatch

myEDmatch is a job-matching site that brings together good-fit schools and teachers based on their common beliefs about education. It's like online dating for education jobs.

School of Open

The School of Open will provide online educational resources and professional development courses on the meaning and impact of “openness” in the digital age and its benefit to creative endeavors, education, research, and beyond. Individuals and organizations will learn how to use free technology and tools, such as Creative Commons licenses, to achieve their goals. Participants will also learn how to overcome barriers they run into everyday due to legal or technical restrictions.

Enstitute

Enstitute, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is implementing a new low-cost model of higher education. With an apprenticeship-based “Learn by Doing” approach that pairs students with their interests, Enstitute is turning startups and small businesses into classrooms. Enstitute works with the best entrepreneurs and innovators to educate tomorrow’s workforce, revitalize economies, and transform lives through entrepreneurship focused education.

Barefoot College

Barefoot College is a non-governmental organization that has been providing basic services and solutions to problems in rural communities for more than 40 years, with the objective of making them self-sufficient and sustainable. These ‘Barefoot solutions’ can be broadly categorized into the delivery of Solar Electrification, Clean Water, Education, Livelihood Development, and Activism. With a geographic focus on the Least Developed Countries (LDCs), we believe strongly in Empowering Women as agents of sustainable change.

Plain Ink is a social enterprise harnessing the power of books, media and storytelling to support communities around the world to gain the practical skills, tools and insights needed to build a sustainable future.
We do this by producing and distributing culturally appropriate and stimulating literacy and learning materials, while also meaningfully engaging individuals, communities, local organisations and governments to actively contribute to shaping a better future. We use the money that we raise through our publishing activities in Italy to spark new educational activities in India and Afghanistan.

School Girls Unite

School Girls Unite began in a small café back in 2004 after a group of 12 year olds and young African women discussed the discrimination felt by girls in many developing countries. We aim to fight this discrimination, and advocate the powers of educating girls. We think education is the starting point to solving almost every other problem, including reducing diseases and ending poverty, and eventually increasing the number of women in leadership positions throughout the world.
School Girls Unite is comprised of chapters in the United States and Mali, Africa. Our incredible sister organization in Mali is called Les Filles Unies pour l’Education. We run a scholarship program in Mali, as well as provide leadership opportunities for youth in the US.

One Laptop Per Child

A non-profit devoted to providing children everywhere with opportunities to explore, experiment, and communicate. OLPC has designed a laptop, educational software, manufacturing base, and distribution system to provide children outside of the first-world with world-class technological learning opportunities
