Real Food Challenge

http://www.realfoodchallenge.org

The Real Food Challenge serves as both a campaign and a network. The campaign is to increase the procurement of real food on college and university campuses, with the national goal of 20% real food by 2020. By leveraging their purchasing power we can catalyze the transformation of the larger food system. The network offers a chance for students and their allies (those working on the campaign along with those who've yet to sign on) to make connections, learn from one another, and grow the movement.

Real Time Farms

http://www.realtimefarms.com

Real Time Farms is a crowd-sourced nationwide food guide. Everyone, from farmers to foodies, can share photos and information about food: how it was grown, who grew it and where to find it. We all deserve to know where our food comes from, and Real Time Farms enables you to trace your food back to the farm, so you can find food you feel good about eating.

Rubies in the Rubble

http://www.rubiesintherubble.com

The more you put in, the more you get out. At Rubies in the Rubble, our aim is to make the tastiest chutney, in the nicest possible way. That’s why every one of our jars is packed with fresh fruit and veg, almost all of which would have otherwise gone to waste/unused. Western countries produce up to 300% more food than we actually need, while 1 billion people suffer from malnutrition. Fairer distribution of all that surplus food is the ideal but in the meantime, learning to value and put it to use in our own country is, we feel, a point of moral principle. We want our products to be a literal solution to food waste. But we also want them to stand as symbolic vehicles of our message- to consume less, think more, and be proud of it. So go on... have a dollop.

Second Helpings

http://www.secondhelpings.org

Each day, Second Helpings volunteers and staff rescue prepared and perishable food from wholesalers, retailers and restaurants -- preventing unnecessary waste. That rescued food is used to create 3,500 hot, nutritious meals each day that are distributed to 70 social service agencies that feed people in need.

Snact

http://www.snact.co.uk

We make fruit snacts from fruit surplus to act on food waste.
Tonnes of perfectly good fruit get thrown away in the UK before reaching shops. We turn that surplus into healthy snacts that contribute to one of your five a day. But a better food system is also about the people involved in it, so as we grow, we plan to employ people who’ve been affected by food poverty to help us make and sell our snacts.

Grab-and-go options in meals and snacks make it easy to shop, with selection changing frequently so there’s always something new to explore. We offer loyalty programs, recipes, and specials.
