Spiritual Abundance Can Boost Economic Revival | This worldview suggests that the key to commercial revitalization lies within us.

A growing chorus of voices are finding positivity in the idea that by tapping into our spiritual abundance from within, we can improve the material world that is external to us, including our economic circumstances. At this challenging time, when commercial activity is being impacted by the need to quarantine households, as well as the changes to retail, trade and travel practices, this idea overtakes helplessness, putting the notion of personal agency in its place, and so offering hope for a more prosperous tomorrow.

The concept of sacred-like abundance
In a spiritual context, the notion of abundance revolves around an appreciation of the inwardly-originating, empowering energy of life, and the innate tendency of nature and of life to manifest, grow and become more. This is the cultivation of respect for the creative energy of the universe. An abundant life is one that leaves negative feelings of lack and emptiness behind. Instead, it is open to light and love that come from a more spiritual domain.

The Law of Attraction
The 2006 Australian-American documentary-style film, The Secret, expands a concept known as the “Law of Attraction”. This is actually a type of positive worldview which sees these thoughts emanating from within us, able to attract events, feelings and experiences in the real world by manifesting themselves. These ideas are held to originate in the “New Thought Movement”, the roots of which go back to the 18th century. This film is actually a series of interviews of supporters of this worldview,  and is seen as a tribute to the power of self-help by many.

The film’s ideas have since been the subject of popular debate, and have captivated high-profile personalities including American TV host, Oprah Winfrey. She is quoted as telling The Larry King Show that the film’s [empowering] message is one she’s been trying to share with the world for over two decades. A companion book by the film’s executive producer, Rhonda Bryne, topped the New York Times bestseller list, with the DVD versions also leading online and high street store rankings.

The Law of Vibration
The “Law of Vibration” is seen as a more profound extension of the Law of Attraction. It maintains that anything existing in our universe, visible or not, can be quantified as a frequency or energy that is never at rest. Trees, the air we breathe, our technology, our pets, and even our bodies are made of energy. Our thoughts are energies in vibration too. The Law of Attraction suggests we attract what we are sending out to the universe. Our thoughts vibrate at a certain frequency, and this high-speed energy will attract whatever we send out with our thoughts.

When our thoughts and emotions are understood as energy vibration (Law of Vibration), and they combine with like-attracts-like (Law of Attraction), we can appreciate how it may be possible to alter and transform our lives, including our financial position, just by altering our thoughts and vibrations, which will go on to alter the energy vibration within us.

Relevance for our current challenges
In essence, applying this worldview to the very present material challenges of today’s pandemic, supports optimism. This is because of its belief that a deep conviction in a more positive resolution will influence outcomes for the better,  so that a healthier economic environment will be manifested. This has empowering potential for the many people concerned about their economic security and prosperity right now, and is therefore a positive resource we can draw upon to effect change in the real world.
