Cookie Lovers Will Soon Enjoy Gluten-Free OREOs

Twist, dunk, lick. These are the classic words used to describe how delicious and fun eating OREO cookies can be. Nabisco recently announced that OREO cookies will be available to those with gluten sensitivities, making cookie lovers around the world very happy.

On November 16, OREO tweeted, “Milk’s Favorite Cookie, now in a Gluten Free version. Coming January 2021.” This sweet tweet was shared 4,200 times in less than two days!

The cookies will be available in two gluten-free varieties, the classic OREO and the OREO Double Stuf. They will be sold in clearly marked packages, according to TODAY, and they will be available permanently. The cookies have been approved by the Gluten Intolerance Group of North America and will have a gluten-free label on the package.

“OREO is always looking to expand our product portfolio to meet the needs of our fans and welcome more people to enjoy the playfulness of OREO cookies,” a company representative told TODAY.

There is much excitement among the famous cookie’s fans. One grateful mom tweeted, “Thank you! My daughter has celiac disease and I can’t wait to get her some! Definitely would make an amazing stocking stuff for this Christmas.”

Another fan tweeted with enthusiasm, “People who are gluten intolerant can now enjoy Somebody thinks this is pretty awesome news! Tommy hasn't had an Oreo since he was one (days before we found out gluten was literally killing him). TY for making a cookie that lets a kid feel normal.”

OREO has practically been a household name over the generations. In fact, this popular treat has been loved by people the world over since 1912, according to the cookie’s website.  And soon, it will be made available to so many more people.

People with gluten sensitivities can soon twist, dunk, and lick, and will be able to use these cookies in tasty cakes, pies, and milkshakes, just like everyone else!
