The Root Chakra (Muladhara Chakra)

Positioned at the base of your spine, the root chakra relates to your foundational needs, like home, safety, and finances. When out of balance, you live in a survivalist mentality, in fear of danger. You’ll know you need to heal the root chakra if you struggle with anxiety and having your core needs met. This stress can also manifest as problems in the colon, bladder, lower back, legs, or feet.

The root chakra corresponds with the sturdy earth element and feeling grounded. So when you want to heal this chakra, turn to woodsy essential oils from trees that promote stability, like cedarwood or sandalwood according to Healthline. Vetiver is another root balancing oil, with a heavy, smoky scent.
