Snapguide

Snapguide is a free iOS app and web service for those that want to create and share step-by-step "how to guides." The service provides easy to understand instructions for a wide array of topics including cooking, gardening, crafts, repairs, do-it-yourself projects, fashion tips, entertaining and more. Users are invited to create their own guides using the iPhone app. Snap pictures and videos of your project, add captions, and share your guide with the Snapguide community.

General Assembly

We’ve created a multi-faceted campus to serve the needs of high-potential entrepreneurs and advance the startup ecosystem in New York. Our community not only has a place in which to collaborate, but also take advantage of a new kind of learning-by-doing. Through our curriculum, entrepreneurs will receive a pragmatic and multi-disciplinary education at the intersection of technology, design, and entrepreneurship.

The Pansy Project

Artist Paul Harfleet plants pansies at the site of homophobic abuse, he finds the nearest source of soil to where the incident occurred and generally without civic permission plants one unmarked pansy. The flower is then photographed in it's location and posted on this website, the image is entitled after the abuse. 
This simple action operates as a gesture of quiet resistance, some pansies flourish and others wilt in urban hedgerows. The artist began by planting pansies to mark his own experience of homophobia on the streets of Manchester (UK) though he plants pansies for others both on an individual basis and as part of various festivals and events.

Carma

Carma’s mission is to change the world for the better, one empty seat at a time. Traffic congestion brings developed cities around the world to a standstill every single rush-hour, but it can all be avoided just by sharing the unused seats in our cars. The Carma Carpooling smartphone app enables people to find others nearby who wish to share their commute. Drivers receive contributions towards their costs, and riders have a comfortable, sociable commute alternative that is, in most cases, cheaper than public transportation.
