How You Can Join the International Day of Doing Good | Registration is now open for Good Deeds Day on April 12, 2026.

There are so many ways of doing good and helping others in your community. While you may feel like you are just a drop in the ocean and can’t make much of a difference that’s not the case. Good deeds ripple out from just one drop to an ocean of kindness.

Now imagine millions of people doing drops of good together on one day. That’s exactly what happens on Good Deeds Day (GDD), every year. Now celebrating its 20th year of making a positive difference around the world, GDD will be held on April 12, 2026.

Starting Small and Going Big
Good Deeds Day is the brainchild of Shari Arison, philanthropist, businesswoman, and the founder of Goodnet. She had the vision of spreading kindness around the world, one drop at a time.

“I believe that if people will think good, speak good and do good, the circles of goodness will grow in the world,” said Arison.

From the beginning in 2007 in Israel, GDD went global in 2011 and is now the largest day of volunteering and doing acts of kindness in the world. GDD unites millions of people from 115 countries with projects that range from helping children and feeding the hungry to protecting the planet.

What’s Your First Step?
It’s really easy to participate in GDD. First, save the date on your digital calendar, on a sticky note on your refrigerator, and in your heart. Next, register on the GDD site, in one of four languages. Registration is open to individual people, organizations or businesses. Volunteering with the people you work with helps build teamwork.

If you don’t know what to do, no problem. The GDD website contains a myriad of ideas for projects. After you decide, you can download materials to promote the project you choose on social media and in your community. If planning activities is not for you, just join events on GDD in your community. Remember that a drop of kindness will turn into ripples of goodness around the globe.
