Metallica is creating a lot of noise around their latest work, and nope, it’s not a new album. The heavy metal band that has been around since 1981 is putting their creative energy towards a very different cause, though one that’s still related to their music

The heavy rockers are creating a children’s book that’ll help young children learn their ABCs. In The ABCs of Metallica, the band will teach kids about the band’s history with fun rhymes and images. The book was co-written by music-executive-turned-author Howie Abrams. Popular graffiti artist and Lordz of Brooklyn MC Michael ‘Kaves’ McLeer used his expertise on the amazing illustrations.

In an announcement about their latest project, the band shared that: “Including rhymes and illustrations, The ABCs of Metallica looks back at the history of the band from, duh, A to Z!” Each letter of the alphabet highlights a moment along our journey from [albums] Garage Days to Master of Puppets to fun facts about us.”

Metallica fans can get their hands on the book November 26, 2019 when it hits the shelves and online bookstores. Learning a new skill isn’t the only thing the book’s purchasers will walk away with; a portion of the proceeds will go towards the bands All Within My Hands Foundation, that works to fight hunger and raise awareness for workplace education. That’s music to our ears!
