Who takes care of your houseplants when you go on vacation? You can have a neighbor stop in once or twice to water them when they take in your mail, use a self-watering setup, or you can pamper them at this plant hotel that will spoil them with attention.

That’s right, a plant hotel. Patch Plants of London, UK came up with this unique service to offer plant owners so they could go away without fear of losing their leafy babies. This unique hotel is offered to both patch and non-patch clients according to Euro News.

Reservations are required but all you have to do is fill in your vacation dates and how many houseplants will have to be homed during that time on the hotel’s website. The manager will get in touch with you to confirm and give you drop-off and pick-up details.

Once at the hotel your greenery will be treated to luxury pampering including suites that are sun filled for sun-loving plants or shady depending on their needs, vegan plant food, and even a spa service that gives them misting and deep leaf treatments.

Patch was founded by Freddie Blackett who created an oasis of green on his girlfriend’s balcony after moving into her urban apartment. He created the plant hotel in 2019 according to Travel Daily Media because of his love of all things botanical.

“We all know the crushing disappointment when you return from holiday to find your plant has gone from green lusciousness to a burnt, dry bunch of twigs. We wanted to open the hotel to give a helping hand to the increasing number of ‘plant parents’,” he told Travel Daily.

The plant hotel had to take a hiatus during the coronavirus pandemic but reopened in the summer of 2021 according to House Beautiful. Since there has been a renewed interest in gardening during the lockdown, it is an idea whose time has come. In fact, Patch delivered over 500K plants in the past year.

Patch’s plant hotel just moved into larger digs with double the capacity. But Blackett suggests booking early. “We wanted to open the hotel to give a helping hand to the increasing number of ‘plant parents’, and a well-deserved treat to their favorite lockdown companions. It's best to book in as soon as possible; we booked out within two days of the grand opening last time, he told House Beautiful.

So, enjoy your late summer or early fall holiday worry-free and let the Patch Plant Hotel take special care of your greenery. Plant parenting was never this easy!
