Girl Scouts Introduce 2 Extraordinary New Cookies
There is a season for spring flowers, summer fruits, and one for pumpkin picking, but girl scout cookie season is one of the best loved ones. From January to April every year people get to enjoy their favorites like Thin Mints, Tagalongs, and Samoas.
In the upcoming 2027 cookie season, Girl Scouts of the USA is rolling out two new cookies, according to a press release from the organization. These will be unlike any of the cookies that have gone before. That’s because the two new cookies, Sparkables, the first allergy-friendly cookie and Patch Pals, the first cookie designed for four-legged furry family members are totally unique.
The new cookies were inspired by Girl Scouts around the country who advocated expanding the cookie line to be more diverse and inclusive, to meet the needs of their communities. This offers new ways for more girls and their family to participate in this long tradition that began in 1917 and is still going strong.
The annual cookie sales are intended to help the scouts practice and develop goal setting, decision making, money management, and business skills. Cookie sales help support local Girl Scout councils and troops. An estimated 200 million cookies are sold every year.
Cookies for Man’s Best Friends
Patch Pals, reported AP News, are blueberry muffin flavored dog treats that were developed with Bark, a New York company that sells dog treats and toys. The cookies were developed because of the girls’ deep love for their pets and symbolize the bond between people and dogs. Each of the four patches represents Girl Scout activities.
The cookie prices vary per region but are typically $6 to $7 per box but you won’t find them in cookie stations or on the regular cookie order form. These special doggy cookies are only available online beginning in January 2027.

Girl Scout Sparkables
Sparkables are designed to allow people with food allergies to be able to enjoy Girl Scout Cookies, according to Southern Living. The crunchy chocolate chip oatmeal cookies with sprinkles were developed by Partake, a food company that produces treats that avoid major food allergens including eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, and milk.
Sparkables will allow scouts or family members with allergies to safely enjoy Girl Scout cookies for the first time. These cookies are also only available online beginning on January 12, 2027, but check your area to find out when cookie sales begin. Then order and enjoy!
