Did you know that Frenchman Comte Mede de Sivrac’s prototype, referred to as the Celerifere or Velocifere, is widely thought of as the precursor to the modern bicycle? Don’t worry if you didn’t know because even the experts don’t all agree on who actually invented the bike. That said, this particular story of evolution begins with Comte Mede de Sivrac’s wooden horse model and goes on a journey right through to the modern racer we know today. What a ride!
